Check your local quilt stores for classes. I'm not sure what part of NC you live in but you should be able to find some that have classes. We have several in my area but only one that I think have the best classes and most of thiers are at night which is good for us working class; so check around to a few shops. Start slow and build you skills. The good things about classes at LQS are there are always people to ask question of if you don't understand something. They'll even help even if you aren't taking classes.
