Hi. I'm the executor of an estate. I found two old sewing machines in the basement. I know nothing about them or their value. It was suggested I might get some help learning about the machines here. Any info you can provide would really be appreciated. Here is a photo of each machine. Thank you!

Do you have the serial numbers from either machine?

For the singer , some info;
Earliest Machines
The oldest sewing machines may not have a model number on the machine. If this is the case we can usually determine the model from the machine's serial number. Please call 1-800-4-SINGER (1-800-474-6437) for assistance in determining the model number. Hope this can help.

No - the serial numbers are on a plate that is affixed at the base of the fat pillar, not on the motors. Nice machines - both of them. Cleaned up they will be gorgeous ..........

The Singer will definately have a serial number, on the bed of the machine down from the brass "Singer" plate on the post. I think I see one in the same place on the Western Electric.

The Western Electric was made by National Sewing Machine Company, most likely sometime in the 20's or 30's.

The Singer is a 28 or 128...the serial number will let us date it for you. It has La Vencedora decals...the bar that's on the bed is to run the machine...it inserts in that hole in the front of the case....

Is it a value you're looking for?

Singer looks like a "Redeye" model 66...I paid 54.00 for mine on ebay in mint working condition...You might want to go into ebay and see what they are going for.
