Still a little new this quilting - and I need some ideas. I want to make my mother a bedsize quilt for Xmas with the gorgrous Moda Butterscotch & Rose FQ Bundle that my hubby bought me for my birthday.

I was thinking about a Yellow brick road - but I am already doing one of those in a USMC theme for my husband.

Any ideas are greatly appreciated!

Anne check out the 10 min block on youtube by Suzanne McNeill. It's a great quilt and goes together really fast!! I also love doing the disappearing 9 patch...it's easy yet looks complicated...happy stitchin' crafty_linda_b

the D9P works up really pretty. you could use the lights for the background and the darks for the floating squares

Check the Moda website. They usually have a few simple patterns for each fabric line that they sell and they are free for downloading. Beautiful fabric by the way!

Great ideas! Thanks a bunch! I just completed a D9P for our bed. Actually it was my first large size quilt. Lots of fun, easy and quick. So needless to say to say I am looking to do something different.

The FQ bundle has 32 FQs one of each pattern/color. I guess I could get a hold of a Turning Twenty pattern & do that. I've seen lots of gorgeous ones posted here.

I kind of wanted to incorporate all the colors/patterns of the bundle to give it that ol' world scrappy look.

If you have an off-white or ivory solid for a background, I can see this bundle making a gorgeous Romance and Roses quilt. It's a pattern by Kim Diehl. I think its in her "Simple Blessings" book. Google the pattern name if you're not familiar. With those colors, I'm sure she will love it no matter what you decide to make.
