One of my favorite kinds of quilts is a personal quilt. They say things about a person. I like it when they hand quilt it and you can see their stitches and how careful they were. My great-grandmother loved to quilt.

Welcome from Idaho. I think every quilt is personal. We put so much time and energy into making one that a lot of ourselves goes into each one.

Welcome from Idaho. Hand quilting is becoming a lost art. It reminds me of the days when we had our quilting bees. The neighborhood ladies would all get together to quilt for a wedding and such. Good memories of that. I love to quilt, but it takes a lot of time. I now use a long arm.

I agree with this. I'm not sure exactly what the original poster meant by "personal quilts". I do hope that all of my recipients feel that they got something personal from me - I always have the recipient in mind when designing the quilt, even if it's a traditional pattern, machine quilted.

Hi and welcome from MO. I love your ballerinas. My ggd loves ballerina everything. She also dances. Hasn't had any lessons but does pretty good with just watching movies. I also like personal quilts.
