What kind of batting do you use for placemats and is it ok to piece?

you can piece batting, just don't overlap it and keep it all the same thickness.

I've used thermolam or Armo fleece. You could zigzag the edges of two pieces together if you need to.

I use Warm and Natural batting for my placemats.

I use the thinnest cheapest batting I can find for my placemats and I do piece so there is no waste. I also quilt the top of the placemat, either straight lines or squiggles, to prevent bunching when they are washed.

Thanks for this info. It's a nice to know tip for sure.

I used the fusible batting on mine. Seems to make it a little stiffer and flattens when ironed.

I use warm n natural batting for my table runners & placemats. I also quilt them.
