I have been gifted a Jonome sewing machine, serial #1152661.
I know nothing about Jonome machines, and this one came with out a manual. It has no other identifaction on it other than the name Jonome, and Serial #. It appears to be a fairly "plain jane" machine, and not too old. Does anyone have any experience with this machine, or be able to point me in the right direction to get a manual? It looks pretty simple to opperate, and I wouldn't worry about the manual if I were keeping it for myself, as I'm sure I could figure most of it out, but it is for my grand daughter, who just wants to learn to sew, so, I'm thinking she would need some instructions. She does not live near me, so I can't help her. Any info would be much appreciated. Humbird

I'm sure a sewing machine shop would be able to help you identify what kind of machine it is. Does it need to be brought in for cleaning? If yes and you give them that business, they may get a manual for you for free or maybe a small fee.

Congratulations on your new machine. I'm a die-hard Janome lover even though I also have a Bernina (that I use mostly for FMQ).

I just looked up a manual for my 6260QC that I have misplaced and could not find one on their site. Does anyone have any idea where I might find one? Thanks.

Janome/New Home is an old company now merged with New Home first and then the Pfaff/Singer merge secondly....they have all adopted the best features of each company and are really putting out quite nice little machines for all 4 brands... did you get the automatic needle threader? it is wonderful and is included now on most of the models from all 4 companies... that came from pfaff originally, but each of the companies have great feet, feed dogs, pattern stitches and physical features that are being shared throughout.... enjoy your new machine...

Janome/Elna and Singer/Viking/Pfaff aren't related, as far as I know, unless it happened like, yesterday. What's your source on that?

I heard on the grapevine (Aussie expression) that Huskvarna and Pfaff joined together and Janome joined up with Elna too.
This came from the mouths that sold me 2 machines that I brought two weeks ago.
I have 3 Janomes (one being a serger) and a Pfaff.
I cant remember not having a Janome as I love their machines but with the GrandQuilter went to Pfaff as the Janome 1600P didnt have as much 'throat space' for quilting.
I was also told by 2 Janome and Pfaff dealers that a lot of the machines are now made in Japan.
I researched the machines for months to make sure I brought the one that would do the job of quilting with ease.
