Christmas quilt....a Quicky just to get rid of Christmas fabric

Okay I don't mean to step on any toes but I must confess, I don't like christmas fabric. There I said it! Stone me, lashings, whatever you're little ole hear desires but for some reason when I see christmas fabric I feel the UGG's churning from the depths of my soul. However I love to see chritmas quilts. Doesn't make much sense but you know you just have your likes and dislikes. I guess I should say I don't like working with christmas fabric. But I bought tons of it at an estate sale, it was part of a take the whole lot sale. Two truck loads of quilting related items, sewing crafting for $200. I donated several boxes to the local "We take your junk" store, and kept what I thought I might be able to work with. Anyway....My kids are all going to be in at the same time for christmas this year at my house! On tuesday the 20th we will have our christmas. Years ago I gave my daughter all my christmas decor, all of it, trees, ornaments the whole thing. Not even as much as a roll of wrapping paper was left. So with everyone coming in for the holiday I had to work quick to get everything ready. The fabric that makes my stomach churn is going to be used for table cloths. Trying to work on a tight budget. And I threw together this little quilt in a few days. Well longer than expected because if it doesn't strike my fancy Its hard for me to work on. But its done!

beautiful - especially for someone who doesn't like the fabric. Good job.

Have you sewn with the Christmas fabrics etched with gold ? The projects are stunning. I have to confess I can't stand the cutsey fabrics.

You are not the only one as I don't like Christmas fabric either. I have a whole bin of it and thought about giving it all to my guild for Christmas placemats but then I thought perhaps I should keep it as I have a new granddaughter who might "need" a Christmas quilt sometime.

Very pretty quilt. A nice quilt can make any fabric look good. Thanks for sharing.

You're not alone in your dislike for Christmas fabric! Just doesn't do much for me either. But you sure did a wonderful job on your quilt! I'd gladly hang that in my house!

It is beautiful! Any fabric that makes your stomach churn, looks great in a clothesline basket. It is cut and wound around the clothesline and is even hard to identify with only the main colour showing. Just a thought.
