Pot Holders
I recently found my lost love of sewing and made many aprons as Christmas gifts. I purchased a pot holder to accompany my gift because I didn't know what materials to use to prevents "burns". Can someone tell me what to use since I would like to make my own additional extras. Thank you so much.

It's called Insulbrite. You can buy it in the batting section. It's like batting with a silvery side to deflect the heat. Good Luck!

Welcome from Minnesota and happy quilting :)

I just used two layers of Quilter's Dream Request weight in my potholders. They work fine for me.

My Mom likes to use old towels for here centers. I use insulbrite.

I've made dozens of pot holders. I use one layer of Insulbrite, and one layer of 100% cotton batting. The cotton batting is a little less flammable than polyester, so better safe than sorry. I also use only cotton thread, no poly or poly blends.
