Newbie quilter

Hello all, I'm Stacie and I am new to sewing and quilting. I have always wanted to make quilts but I am trying to teach myself so it has been difficult. There is just something about quilting that draws me to it and I feel like just have to learn how to do it. I'm so looking forward to meeting other quilters on here and learning lots of new things.

I'm trying to start small with projects I can handle. My fiance's brother will be welcoming a new baby in August and I really want to quilt a baby quilt for the new baby. Any baby quilt ideas?

Hi Stacie!

There are as many ideas for a baby quilt as there are people on this board. It will come to you. Usually for me, a piece of fabric inspires me. This might help though. Missouri Star Quilts has a website (I'll post a link) that has some really easy quilts you can make from jelly rolls, etc. (Pre-cut squares or strips). They have several tutorial videos posted on their website that will walk you completely through it. If you get stuck, take your project to a local quilt shop and they can help you. If there's not one nearby, or it's just raining, log on here. Take pictures, let us know what you're trying to do, and show us where you are now and where you're stuck. Someone here will get your choo choo back on the track.
Glad to have you here - there's lots of help for you - you came to the right place.

Look at the blue bar for the "Tutorials" section and off you go! See you out there. Also, post your questions in the "Main" section.
