Hi! New Quilter here!

Hi everyone! My name is Katie. I am 32. I am married, and I am a momma to 2 kiddos.

I am a new quilter. When I say new, I really mean new. I haven't actually made my first "real" quilt yet, lol! I've made several rag quilts, I started last year. I really enjoyed it, and now making quilts doesn't seem quite so intimidating to me. I am the type of person who starts lots of new things and doesn't finish. At the end of last year I decided I needed to stop doing that and pick one thing to focus on and get good at. I decided quilting was it. I've been reading books, Pinteresting, buying fabrics and daydreaming. I am almost ready to start my first quilt! However, I won't let myself start until I finish up a few projects that I have already started (a few rag quilts to finish, and a few other crafty things that have been sitting around for awhile) I should be able to start in about a week or so.

I've already designed my first quilt! You can see my design here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/4181190...7629292518835/

I am collecting vintage sheets and participating in a swap on flicker. So my first quilt will be made from vintage sheets. I'm very excited. I am planning on machine piecing and machine quilting it. I think I will do machine piecing for the most part, but I would like to hand quilt. So maybe I will try that on my next project.

I am happy to be here and hope to learn from you and somehow contribute.
