Words or phrases that make you crazy
 

Do any of you have certain words or phrases that you hear so often they just drive you up a wall? Let's see how many we can come up with. Among the ones that set my teeth on edge lately are 'wonky' and 'exact same'.

These are not new, but they still grate on my nerves "like" "you know".

When some pronounces interesting as 'inneresting'.

Ideal in place of idea

Referring to a little boy as Bud or Buddy or spouse as " The wife" rather then by their name.

To hear a husband or wife refered to as my [old man]or [old woman]

I hate the use of the term "Deserve", for instance, "they just didn't deserve that to happen". I always think, who does deserve whatever situation being referenced. What does "Deserve have to do with anything"? We can thank McDonalds advertising for this slogan entering our everyday language. "You Deserve A Break Today, So Get Up And Get Away, To McDonald's"

Thank You for letting me vent my pet peeve even though I didn't deserve to.

When u speak to someone and the reply is yeah or huh? What happened to yes, yes Ma' am or sir or excuse me?
