Brother makes good machines that are reasonably priced.
I just bought another one, its a small travel machine for classes and cost $80.
Love it.
I have a Viking Sapphire computerized machine for most of my sewing.
My original cheap Brother is my backup machine and have had it since I started quilting. It runs like a dream and no repairs. Cost me $129.

I have a Brother 4000D and I love it! I also have a Viking Rose. I have found that with the Brother machines you do not get pieced to death fianacaily. With my Viking, it was not only higher priced, but I had to purchase eery little thing. Both are great machines, butI love my Brother.

I have a BL9 Babylock made by Brother. It will sew anything. It was cheap and does a great job. Light weight. Brother make a wonderful machine. I also have a Viking Diamond, MC9000, ESe2. All are great machines.

I love my Brothers. Just bought a Brother 6000i for $129..came highly recommended from my trusty dealer. Love it. Sews great!! Simple to use. I also own the SE270D (combo) and the 700II (embroidery only). Sad to say, I bought a Singer for $299 and recently sold it. Just would not sew a great seam. Much prefer my older (vintage) Singers.

Was at my sewing group today when a friend had trouble with her Brother--Had it checked /cleaned/repaired but--
she says the thread clogs up underneath. Was OK for a while today then started again. I advised redoing
the bobbin also check the kind of thread. I didn't really get time to work on it as my Featherweight was being
temperamental also. My fault . Then other lady got sick because salt gives her sores in her mouth so she had to go home .

I only know she paid $270. US. for this CS - 100 model. Told her I would ask you all for help. !!!!!
My brother is a 1500 D embroidery. Thanks for any ideas.

I don't have a 2600, but I have owned several Brother machines and have never had any problems with them.

I have 2 Brothers and absolutely swear by them both. One is very lightweight and easy for me to carry around. The other one is my 'stay-at-home' machine and terrific.
