pretty quilt on flyer
i opened my sunday paper to find a lovely quilt on the cover of joann's weekly ad. i found the flyer online here http://joann.shoplocal.com/joannsale...tores-120708NP so you can see what i'm talking about. it rather looks like a grandmother's flower garden. would the centers have to be appliqued on? does anyone know what pattern this might be?

As mentioned above, you could do strip sets, then cut in 60° triangles as you would for OBW ... and assemble in the same fashion. It makes quite a lovely quilt either as a scrappy, or with coordinated fabrics. A LQS has one as a class sample done all in brown/beige/peach batiks. So peaceful and calming. |
Here's a link to cutting instructions. It was a quilt along from 2010 and includes links to 7 block layouts and finishing directions.

Very nice quilt, love those colors.

Its made using a 60 degree ruler, and can be done by cutting strips. If you google 60 degree hexagon quilt pattern you'll find many tutes, fons and porter also did this one. I think Missouri Star quilt company also has a tute for it on youtube. You might also try modabake shop.

Thanks auntpiggylpn! And thanks QuiltnNan for starting this thread!

You would think that a fabric store should know that Quilter's are going to want to know this stuff. They should have put a small note on the flyer but isn't it great that so many QB friends have your back?
