Here is a picture of the layout I want to use to make a quilt for a customer--using crown royal bags. Havent quite got the measurements figured out exactly--bcs the customer does want to leave the gold trim on --so I'm working around that. :)

Of course they want the gold detail.(sarcasm) It would be too easy if you could just cut squares without trying to get the details in. I think someone showed one with Crown Royal bags on QB and it did turn out great. Good luck.

Wow you certainly have your work cut out for you. Maybe you can use the gold in the trim area. Good luck.

I'm hand quilting a Crown Throw right now. I never use the gold though. I fussy cut the centers to use as centers of star blocks and such...very popular! Sold a couple on eBay around the holidays...good seller!

Would have never thought to use Crown Royal bags--I remember I used to see them all over the house when I was young. Had I known.....lol

Sorry, don't think I would spend my time making one.

I have quite a few of them that were given to me. I have started taking them apart - and if any of you know how to figure out which thread to pull to make the gold thread come out all at once, please let me know. I have picked each stitch out and have quite a stack of fronts, backs and sides. My son wants me to make him a quilt out of them. There are different size bags and in order to get a center block with the "crown royal" centered in it, it has to be pieced. FUN!?!?!?!? I have made several star blocks for him to choose from - I used batiks as the second fabric.

I could not find any information on working with them so just decided to experiment. I put a bunch of them in the washer on cold and tossed them into the dryer afterwards - figured I didn't have too much to lose - guess what? They came out perfectly.

This project has been on the back burner for the past couple of years - maybe it's time to take it out and get back to work on it ...
