Since money is tight around here.. and I am not willing to pay 70.00 to 90.00 for a casket pillow for all of my ex's children, Yes we happen to get along and I know he could not afford it either. i made one. What do all of you think?

Please forgive me, but I have never heard of a casket pillow. Can someone enlighten me on why each child would need one or what specifically it is for. Once again, please forgive my ignorance

My father was a florist who ran his business out of our home. At an early age I was exposed to many funeral homes etc. My father also had a full time job working second shift for a local utility. My mother often sent one of my three siblings or me with him to make sure he didn't fall asleep while driving. It was not unusual for them to get an order for a small floral arrangement that was mounted on a pillow to go in the casket. While my father didn't charge near as much as most florists it could still be a costly item. I have three step-children so I am familiar with that kind of relationship. Ironically I am the one that sees that their birthdays etc. are recognized. I think it would be a nice gesture on your part. The one you showed is lovely. Perhaps a local florist would be interested in you making such items for his business.

I still don't understand, did they all die at once? (ex's children)

Did they die . . . or are you just planning ahead?

I have not heard of a casket pillow either, but I think it is a lovely custom. You are very talented, this one is lovely.

I've never heard of this before either. The flowers are beautiful. I really can't see the pillow very well since it seems to mostly be covered by the flowers. Is the pillow heart shaped?

They are usually placed on the hinge of an open or partially open casket. usually sent from young children, grand kids , great grandkids, God children. Sometimes sent by an adult to someone very swpecial. I'm a retired florist. This custom has been done all over the USA as far as I know. As a rule this piece is buried with deceased.
