Update on my Triple Irish Chain
Except for clipping some threads and adding the label, I am finished with it! Yay!!!
I went ahead with the variation, and while I like it....next time I will make it to where the blocks are even. OCD a little? Perhaps! I just like symmetry :) Anyway, here is the finished (almost) quilt. http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a3...irishchain.jpg |
Wow, did you stitch in the ditch every row?? That is a lot of work. Good job. I have several Irish chains planned out for my next few quilts. Can't wait to start.

Thank you. Yes, I quilted all the way across every row, however I didn't quilt from top to bottom. I included a couple of firsts in this one. First time I used Elmer's glue basting. I liked it so so. Not as well as the spray basting, but the spray bothers both my husband's COPD and my own seemingly healthy lungs. I did get a couple of pleats I don't think I otherwise might have had with the spray. I also used flannel for my batting, then a cotton backing. I think I really, really like the flannel. Not a thick quilt, but moderately heavy and warm. It handles well.... |
I just love it! What a wonderful job !

That is so kool. How long did it take? What size are the blocks? Is there a pattern for this quilt? Does it sound like I am picking your brain? OK I am. Really like this quilt. What a wonderful way to use scraps. Thanks for sharing. BrendaK

I am including a post about some problems I ran in to when I first started the quilt. It also has a link to the pattern I used. There are other patterns out there that would probably work better, but this is the one I used. http://www.quiltingboard.com/main-f1...n-t203105.html |
