Rotary Blade Sharpeners
2 Attachment(s)
Last year I bought myself a post Christmas present when I bought an electric rotary blade sharpener from QIAD ( http://www.quiltingboard.com/main-f1...s-t201460.html ). This year I bought myself a pre Christmas present when I bought another sharpener! This one is not an electric one, but one that sits right at your cutting mat and you run your blade through it.
Don't get me wrong, I love my electric one, but it takes a bit of time to take the blades apart, oil the sharpening stone, sharpen the blades and then to put it all back together. Sometimes, you just want to be able to do a quick touch up right from the cutting mat. And I found a sharpener that does that!! I'm sooo excited!! Now, I have the best of both worlds!! P.S.~I, in now way, represent the makers of either sharpener. I'm just super excited, lol!! |
So what is that little red one called and where did you get it?
|
I have a blade sharpener like your electric one; but haven't used it yet as I have so many new blades. Except for the time involved, does it sharpen your blades OK? I have dozens of used blades. Maybe I should try it out by setting aside time to sharpen lots of blades.

Bonnie Hunter from Quiltville was saying that the electric sharpener is working well for her. She uses it each time before a big cutting job to keep her blade sharp. I can see how having one handy without taking the the rotary cutter apart would be even better. I would also like to know how you like it versus the electric one for sharpness and where it can be purchased.

We have the electric on in the LQS. I used it the other day and it works beautifully. It's on my Christmas list. I'll look for the other one...I, too, like the idea of one for simple quickies.

I have both of those, and neither one works worth a darn..in fact, the electric one makes the blades worse! Glad it works for you, everyone else I know who has them has had the same luck as me.

I have the little red it is made by Grace Company. It is ok, makes blade last a while longer but it certainly do not make it like new!
