Trying to find this fabric.

Someone asked me to add to make two stockings like this because their family is growing. I don't recognize the fabric, but I thought I'd check here.

Oh dear. I take it the person who originally made them doesn't have any extra? I don't recognize it at all.

On another note, I think it's fabulous that everyone gets matching stockings. My husband's family has a tradition of knitted red stockings with a snowman design, and the person's name at the top. However, you DON'T get a stocking if you weren't born into the family. So, my husband and 2 kids have a stocking, but I don't. My husband's sister and her two kids have a stocking, but her husband doesn't. I think it's kind of mean to exclude family members just because they're not related by blood. So I started a new tradition and made quilted stockings. Ha.

That does seem like a mean tradition. What would they do if there were an adopted child, or a stepchild in the family? Would that child also do without?

Oh my! What a dilemma!! If it were MY stockings, I would either (1) get a whole new set of stockings if I wanted them all to "match"; or (2) find similar fabrics in design and colors and make the two additions with those new fabncs. But if the person has her own ideas about matching, and the fabric cannot be found, it would be impossible to please her. Perhaps give her ideas for alternatives. good luck!

That's like British royalty. If you marry in to it, you are never a ture royal. LOL

Sounds like they're treating the in-laws like outlaws. LOL!

The first thing my mother-in-law did when I married my husband was start on my stocking (and I'm Jewish!). I was thrilled but disappointed to see that my MIL and FIL didn't have stockings, so I knitted them each one. Now that my MIL has passed away, I'm the official knitter of stockings for all new family members - and that includes through marriage, birth or whatever.

Do you need me to make you one????

Ask her if you can make all new and personalized stockings. Also throw in a few extra for later on where their name can be added by a fabric pen.

I have no idea about the pattern -- I have something similar in a completely different colorway that I used in a quilt. You can probably find something in the same color way but a different pattern -- so I would ask if that is alright.
