Ripper and I

Has anyone....made a sample piece with a decorative stitch, liked it, did half the quilt with it, decided it wasn't working out, either it was finish and hate it OR.....(ta dah..........) you guessed it....rip it all out and start with something else. It's either that or give up on it. And it will NOT defeat me! Anyone else second guessed and rippppppppppppppp? If I'm the only one, I am going to quit!! LOL

yes, i got quite a way into a quilt with the serpentine stitch. then, when standing back to look at it, decided the stitch pulled too much, so ripped it out and redid with the straight stitch. i'm sure it had something to do with my tensions or pressure on the foot, but i didn't have time then to figure it out.

No you are not the only one. Last night, I ripped out the decorative stitches on my under the sea quilt.

ALL the time. Sometimes I don't even rip. I hide it in a cupboard and forget about it until the cupboard starts to overflow. :)

Which is why I call myself "stitchnripper" Much ripping for many different reasons.

I thought that twin needle quiting on either side of the ditch would look good on a quilt. It did on the top but I didn't like how it zig zagged on the back. The good part was the stitch ripper worked well on the zig zag on the back.

I finish the project but will change the stitching and then put it in the donation basket. I may not like it but someone will. It's done and forgotten.

Doing this as I type (almost)! I'm apparently not at all good at doing one deco stitch at a time as was suggested for a particular block I was doing. Ripping has not been fun. Will need to get back to it soon as I have almost all the other blocks for this quilt done. Ick!
