EQ Stitch for EQ7 users

I just received an announcement that EQ is releasing a program to work with EQ7 to do embroidery. I am very tempted as I have an embroidery machine but have not been able to teach myself to digitize. The shop that sold me my sewing machine is no longer in business and the closest dealer for my brand is 90 miles away so I have no local support. I would love to be able to generate designs to use as quilting designs on my quilts and I also love red work which should be relatively simple. Anyone else tempted?

I saw that and was tempted. I'll wait until Friday and if I still want it I'll get it then. I especially liked the quilting design part of it...

Your more patient than I am. I am giving myself 24 hrs but probably won't last that long.

I'm not only tempted, but I placed an order earlier today! I'm in OH near where EQ is located, so I should have it in my hands Thursday. I can't wait! I especially like that they included text, since that's mostly what I do.

WOW I just looked at that - such a great price and looks like a really good product. If I did not already have 4D I would be right there with you (lol). It was not clear to me if you can only do their designs or you could create / import your own, but either way it looks like a fantastic entry level product and way less complicated than 4D or some of the others I have seen.

Can not wait to see how you all like it!

I am curious. I have EQ7 and have been wondering whether the Stitch plugin would be useful to me since I only free-motion embroidery. Anyone who free-motions know whether this would be useful or a waste of money???

Maybe a little tempted at first but then I saw the price tag and that realed that in. I'd spend more for it than EQ. You'd think that as a plug in it would be cheaper. See if you have a sew in vac in your are or even another LQS; the first has clubs for all machines and the second, if its like mine won't care what machine you have to take their classes. Do you want to learn to embroidery or digitize? I have 5D pro and it does alot and I can get one on one classes to learn plus I can go to mrpatience.com and get his classes and free videos and Viking also has free learning tutorials. I think when a plug in on sale is more or the same as the main component that's crazy. Orginal price will be 289; what does that make it now if you buy the whole package from scratch.

I have EQ7, but since I just got a new computer over the weekend
have not yet installed it, but I plan on doing that this weekend (I HOPE).

Would love to try this new EQ Stitch, but since I already have digitizing
software Floriani Suite Pro not and still don't know how to use it, not
sure if it would be wise or smart of me to spend money on more software
that I will need to learn.

I also have 5D pro but it was a gift and I don't have any local quilt stores with classes. We live in a rural farming community and the closest shop that has classes is 90 miles away since our local store owners retired and moved to Ohio. I have tried to teach myself how to digitize with NO success. I purchased yesterday and hope that for the simple things I prefer to do that I will be successful. I spoke to EQ and told them that mainly I like to do redwork and simple quilting designs for blocks on my quilts.
They said there were hundreds of quilting designs included with the program. It will also generate embroidery fonts from any true text font. I use quite a few of these also and appreciate not having to purchase fonts in different sizes.
It has some designs included but creates embroidery and applique designs from your drawings using the tools already available in the EQ7 drawing board. I liked the fact that I was already familiar with using the tools available in EQ7.
