starting a scrap quilt.

Hi, I'm new to the board.
I have a question for any out there. I have bags of scrap material, a backing with batting already attached.
My question is how would I attach this material to the batting and back without making blocks?
I have started it, quilting as I go but it was getting complicated. I attached the whole thing :) to my frame and have started it there.
Is there an easier way?
Thanks,
Ronda

You could try making rows of blocks first, then add them to the backing/batting using a quilt as you go method.

This is a sensible suggestion. If not rows, big pieced blocks maybe.

Since you don't want to make blocks, and you say you have already started ? quilting it?...Why don't you use your scraps to do a crazy quilt..by laying a scrap on the batting/lining , another on top,...stitch the 2 edges together, flip and repeat with another scrap. Look up "crazy quilt". You can do it on your machine or by hand in the frame, and when you have your quilt finished, the quilting is done also. All you need to do then is bind it.
