Creative Grids Rulers

Everyone,

I have been reading about the Creative Grids rulers on the board & decided to order some. They are fantastic! no slipping when cutting my strips, easy to read and line up on my cutting mat.
Thank you for posting your information on them. i am very happy that I followed your advise. i learn so much from reading this board!

I started using them too. Have others and didn't realize how much better my cutting and piecing are now that I'm using the Creative Grid rulers. Just wish I knew about them sooner and wouldn't have wasted my money on the others.

It all depends on what I am working with. I usually prefer the way the OmniGrid rulers have the opening so I can follow the line better. I do use a few sandpaper dots on the OG's.

I agree about the Creative Grids rulers. I would buy them all if I could only afford to - the rulers themselves are great and they have so many different types of rulers.

I started switching to the Creative Grids a couple of years ago and am very pleased with them. I found that they are a lot easier on these older eyes LOL

As I am needing to replace my rulers, (and I have the money to do it) I am going to the Creative Grids. They are really good at not slipping on the fabric, and the lines are easy to read. Next to replace is my 6x24.

I switched to Creative Grid rules a couple years ago and I find my cutting more accurate with them. I particulalrly like my 8-1/2 x 24 ruler.

What would be the 3 most common sizes of creative grid rulers that you would use that seem to serve the majority of your needs? I am thinking of getting 3: the 6.5 square, 8.5 x 24 (vs 6.5 x 24), and a 12.5 square OR 15.5 square. Are these the sizes you grab the most?

I have a 6.5 x 24.5 CG that I use more than any other. I'm not sure if I would find the extra 2" a help or a hindrance. I have never found that I wished this ruler was wider. For wider measurements I go to my 12.5" square. I use my 6" square a lot for squaring up smaller sizes and doing trim work. On more than one occasion I have wished I had a bigger square than 12.5"

So I would say those are good sizes you have picked out. Definitely the sizes (or closest approximation) of the ones I use most.

I prefer the 6.5 x 24 as I can spread my hand out so that one or more fingers are on the fabric while cutting. I could not do that with the 8.5 x 24.

My favorite is a 3x5 x 12.

Cheers, K
