Is $200 to quilt a queen a fair price?

I just had a queen sized quilt long arm quilted with a simple meander pattern and the cost was $200. Is that pretty much the going price for a queen quilt?

Just wondering. Thanks.

I'll leave that to the LAs. I've been offered a discount for a twin because of family but I'll probably pay more because that supplements her income since she is limited. I would say that since a queen is a couple sizes larger than a twin you were charged a fair price. Thread is thread and a meandering stitch still takes a lot of thread and if you want quality quilting, well meandering still needs to look good. I believe you got a deal. Imho!

In my area of Virginia I'd find $200 too much for a simple meander on a queen quilt. Yep.

Did you not get a quote before you had the work done?

I recently paid $200 for a queen, panto, not meander. That included the batting, which I sometimes bring but did not this time.

My LAQ charges .0125-.0150 per square inch, plus whatever she pays for the thread. Figuring a queen size quilt is approx. 90"x94", I figure $106-$125 plus thread costs. $200 seems really high to me, unless she had to provide the batting and/or did the binding, too.

I am paying less than $90.00 here in this part of the country. That included batting (I supplied the backing), binding, and pantograph, but not shipping.

I've never paid over $140 and that always included the batting. $200 seems pretty high to me.

It sounds high to me, too.
