Question for St.louis Missouri quilters.

I'm coming to St.Louis 12th October for 10 days staying with family who aren't crafters.
So is there any must see shops, shows, places around the area.
Ive put in a request to drive to Puddacah to visit the National quilt museum and Hancocks which will be one day.

Thanking you for any links, websites, addresses you can recommend .

Cheers Nerida

Hello Nerida,
Welcome to the Board. While in Missouri, take a trip over to Missouri Star Quilt Company in Hamilton, Missouri. The owners/family are terrific and they have just completed a retreat center adjacent to their shop that you could tour. Check out their website. They produce wonderful quilting tutorials for YouTube. Also, while in Paducah, take time to visit Eleanor Burns' shop as well as Hanocks. Have a safe and fun trip!

Missouri Star Quilt Company is a great quilt shop but it is about 260 miles from St. Louis. My quilt shop finder also shows quilt shops in St. Charles, Missouri, and Quincy, Illinois which are both right outside of St. Louis. I'm just not sure if these shops are still open. I'm about 3.5 hours west of St. Louis.

Here's the locations of the major quilt shops around town. There are more. St. Charles is an old river city and theres alot of craft shops there. Beware....our major baseball team (Cardinals) are in teh playoffs so if they are playing home, traffic will be crazy.
If I come across anymore I will let you know

I am from St Louis. The 3 St Charles stores CLOSED in January!! (Blessings, Binding Borders & Suares, Patches. ). MO star is in the opposite direction on the other side of the state! not sure I would do that much driving. PLENTY Of great shops in the St Louis area!!

Paducah is about 3 hours south of St Louis...easy drive! Stop in Carbondale, IL for Calico Country. They have a store in Paducah too. Just down the street from Hancocks of Paducah. Dont forget the Quilt Museum in Paducah. Your family will be amazed at the "quilts".

Old St Charles is the nations longest main street. Located along the Missouri River, there is plenty to do there. Shops, eats, brews, etc.

Chesterfield is close to the wineries. Two new outlet malls just opened in Chesterfield...both are very nice! Your family will kepp you busy. I used to live in the Chesterfield area. I miss it!!

Love my home city of St Louis!
