I've never seen or heard of these before but I was wondering if someone could tell me more a about them. Just saw a listing for one on auction and I know nothing about this style of cabinet existing for the W&W 9.

Thanks!

Do a Google search using keywords "wheeler wilson library cabinet" and you will find a couple of sites to obtain some information on these machines and the cabinets. I went to look at one of these about a year ago. The machine had a lot of rust on it and the "books" were in poor condition. The mirror would have needed to be re-silvered. The wood wasn't great either. I passed on it due to its poor condition but it is the only one that I have seen.

Make sure it has the bobbins. Takes odd needles.

Yahoo has a Wheeler Wilson Collectors group that I am on that is really nice and helpful. They specifically say they are there for folks who have them AND folks who want them.

The Wheeler and Wilson #9 was one of the best treadles ever made. I learned to sew on one when I had three kids and all their clothes were sewn on that machine. I rue the day I had to have a new electric machine which turned out to be a piece of (c#@&) and let my husband take the machine out of the cabinet and throw it away, then used the machine itself for sewing leather sheaths for knives that he made. What I wouldn't give to have that back, intact.
