Casey's earache

:D

Because of an ear infection, my young son had to go to the pediatrician. We were new in town and this was our first trip to the new doctor. I was impressed by the way the doctor directed his comments and questions to Casey.

"Is there anything you are allergic to?" he asked Casey.
Casey nodded, leaned over to the doctor and whispered in his ear.

Smiling, the doctor wrote out a prescription and handed it to me. Without looking at it, I tucked it into my purse. Later the pharmacist filled the order, remarking on the unusual food and drug interaction my son must have. When he saw my puzzled expression, he showed me the label on the bottle.

As per the doctor's instructions, it read, "Do no take with

BROCCOLI!"

Priceless!
My son had constant ear aches as a child. We would no sooner get one cleared up with antibiotics and he would start on another until.....we started having him gargle and spit out with 100% tea tree oil in water. 10 drops to a water bottle and shake before gargling after brushing his teeth in the morning. He still uses it at age 30 and hasn't had antibiotics since.

My daughter is a pediatrician and I KNOW when I hear about a good one, a truly child oriented one. Your son is very lucky to have found such a "friend". :)

Your Son's whisper to the Doctor is priceless. Evidently your Son doesn't like broccoli.

Great!

My grandmother had a home remedy that worked for us when we had earaches. She took the kernel from a peach pit and mashed it up in a teaspoon of warm water. She put the mixture in our ear and it stopped the pain so we could sleep. She said earaches would go away on their own but this has worked for my kids overnight until the Dr. the next day. I keep several peach and apricot pits in my medicine stash.
