505 Spray Adhesive
I have 4 quilt tops I would like to spray baste while the weather is still nice. My question is: Will the quilt sandwiches stay glued together for several months until I can get all the quilts quilted? Easier question: How long will 505 keep a quilt sandwich together? I have never used this product so I really don't know if it wears away with time or if it keep the quilt sandwich together until I wash it, even if that's 6 months later.

My suggestion -- become best friends with "Elmer" -- washable school glue, that is. Wonderful, wonderful stuff. Stays put until you wash it out. No odors, no overspray, no problems at all!

I have a wallhanging I sprayed months ago and havent gotten too yet and its still together just a good as the day I did it ...

I had a quilt basted with 505 that it held up until the 2 years later that I finally quilted it...so at least 2 years...tho I really had hoped to get it quilted sooner!

The 505 spray is good, it does stick well. Maybe I am doing it wrong, but I spray downstairs in my family room, last week I used it and I honestly did not notice any odour from the 505. I have never sprayed outside, it works for me in the house. I spray as I get the quilts done and not ahead.

No problem ... it will hold together almost indefinitely!
The "temporary" concept is that it's temporary, til you wash it, then it's gone. So spray away and have your work ready and waiting for you ... then you can focus on the fun part, the quilting! |
The utube I watched the person said it had lasted for years.

Yep, no problem...it stays til you wash the quilt!
