If This Quilt Could Talk- Scrap Quilt Finished!
2 Attachment(s)
When I started this quilt I called it my "scrap abatement project" because although I don't have a huge stash, I was being overrun with scraps. As I worked on it I began connecting the fabrics with things I had made for people. I had recently lost my mom & so many of the fabrics were from things I'd made for her. It made me happy to work on it & think of her. There is fabric in there from the first Halloween costume I made my now 26 year old son & so many other fabrics that brought back good memories. I was determined not to buy any fabric for this quilt & even pieced the back from scraps. I did have to buy some of the solid fabric for the stars & the border & binding. I decided to name it "If this Quilt Could Talk" because chances are if I have ever made something for someone there is a piece of it in this quilt.

great looking quilt.

Excellent.
I love the Vestibule pattern too (even if it is a silly name, like Square Cross, another name for the pattern). It's a great use for scraps, and a great way to revisit good memories. I've made 3 of this pattern. Every once in a while I take a box of scraps and trim down to the pieces I use. When I have enough in my baggies of precuts, I make another. |
Its a wonderful quilt. What wonderful memories are recalled when you look at it.

Love, love, love the term, "scrap abatement project". Sure did produce a delightful quilt.
