Help With Roatry Cutter

I have a large Fiskars Ergonomic rotary cutter. Today, it had a bit of a drag, so I took the blade off and cleaned it. However, when I put it back together, it will not rotate. So thinking there is a right way and wrong way, I did it again, now it turns but drags.
Please, someone help me, I cannot afford a new cutter.
BTW, when I took it apart, there was no little washer on the blade like some have.

What did you clean it with? It may need just a touch of vaseline or WD40 to get it to turn smoothly.

How long have you had it. Maybe some one else has one and can tell you if theirs has a washer. I keep a plastic pan with a 1" lip around when I take my cutters or anything else apart. That way I am less prone to lose any parts. Also the non-skid shelving works because parts can't roll around and onto the floor. Will wait and see if others have washers in their cutters. If so you may be able to purchase at hardware/automotive depts.

You might want to watch this Youtube video on how to change a blade:

I found that I was tightening the screw that goes through the whole cutter too much! I backed it off and it now rotates and does its job properly. Worth a try!

I have the fiskar 45MM blade and cutter. I don't like the newer ones and think my cutter is getting older. Sometimes is a little rough at first. After I use and turn blade to other side, eventually it works just fine. Watch buying off brand blades, I have some that works worst than the old blade I am replacing. Those were sold on the shelf along with the fiskar blades. Now I only make sure they are fiskars.

When changing blades on an Olfa cutter, I was told to always place a drop of sewing machine oil between the new blade and the black plastic blade protector.

If you go to http://www2.fiskars.com/Sewing-Quilt...ers-and-Blades, they have live chat available (lower right hand side of the window) M-F 8-4 Central. I bet they can help you get it working!
