The newest one - Brother

This is the one I was given today . She forgot to tell me that it was in a small cabinet, but that was OK as that fit in the car, though I removed the machine first.

This is a really sweet looking machine! Hopefully it will make someone a real good workhorse for many years to come.

You are a magnet for old machines...

I've been "collecting" for almost a year now. Word is starting to get around in the small community that I may be interested.

I don't really mind, who knows what may turn up at some point? Though more often it's the people thinking they can make some money on the item they've considered a piece of junk in their way for years.

The friend who gave me this one says she's got another somewhere, and if she finds it I can have that one too. Though she's got two rented storage sheds and fears it may be way in the back of one of them. She and her husband are trying to get down to one storage shed.

Nice ! I miss the ability to change the range of zig zag. That is what the lever is nearest the dial. I have this on my old singer.. old as in 1969. lol I do NOT confess that I too am old. Yes, the machines of this time peroid have a stronger ability.. I have not clue why, but differant to all these now.. Hope you enjoy your new find.

I took this machine with the understanding we'd fix it up and find it a new home. My DH keeps looking at it and saying "That is sure a nice looking machine" . His problem is that he seems to bond with every machine he cleans up and gets running!

I have the same problem. I admit I tend to adopt them rather than buy them to sell. Sigh .............

Saw one just like this on Monday at thrift store but not in as good condition. Didn't have cabinet and they wanted $250.00 with no attachments. They try to pass it off as antique. Once again I just moved on.

I just missed an older Brother 15 clone at our Goodwill here in town. I was trying to wait for Friday when it would have been 1/2 off. Someone else here likes the older machines too. Out of 3 sewing machines in the store, only the newest one is left.
Maybe next time,
Rodney
