We have our 19th Grandchild. What a Christmas blessing. She was due on October 31st and was born on December 5th. She is in the NICU unit for problems with sugar and oxygen. She has Downs Syndrome but I am still going to teach her how to quilt. Her name is Lily Mae West. Just had to brag.

Congratulations on the precious new life in your family.
What a wonderful Christmas present!!!

She's adorable! my youngest was due (according to charts) August 9, 1979 and he didn't show up until Sept. 19,1979. Her brother looks very proud. Runs in the family and yes teach her how to quilt. The kids with DS accomplish so much more now. Many go on to college.

Hope your precious new bundle gets to go home for Christmas! Sounds like she's going to have lots of hugs waiting for her.

Congratulations and a Special Merry Christmas! Her name is adorable and so is she. (Her big brother looks very proud!)

Congrats! Ds won't hold her back if her family doesn't let it! My good neighbor has a Ds brother who lives with her, the young man is fairly significantly disabled and can't live alone, but he's such a great person. He shovels my snow, rakes leaves, mows the yard and I do pay him the exact same as any other person who does yard work (I refuse to think he deserves less because he has Ds) and teach him piano. His present to his caregiver (an aunt I believe) is he's going to play her Jingle Bells on his keyboard. He's worked so hard all year to learn that, because she loves the song and he wants play it for her.
