Photo Quilt
Has anyone ever made a photo quilt before? I have fabric printing paper, but I am looking online at tutorials that use bubble jets to presoak the material? Do I need this if I already have fabric printing paper? Do you use freeze paper? Which is the best way? thanks

There have been lots of discussions about this topic, but I just can't seem to find them at the moment |
I generally use the jet set, or follow whatever instructions the photo papers suggests. I had colors run off a quilt once! Very traumatizing. I have done around 10 of these...I think. One thing to make sure of- if you are using an inkjet printer, make sure you have it on the lowest ink setting! Part of the problem I was having was that I had the DPI too high and there was a TON of excess ink.
Good luck to you and happy quilting! |
Thank you narniaquilter. This is good info.

I've done two of these. I just followed the directions on the commercially prepared printer fabric. They turned out well and we enjoy using these quilts. One was a memory quilt for my son and made with photos of his childhood (that he chose). The other was of my mother's art. Good luck with your quilt. :-)
