Beautiful quilt gifted to Emmaline

Yesterday we received a package from a friend in Michigan. She was a good friend to Mom Allen and had known her for many years. When Mom Allen was in her final stages of cancer Terry visited a lot and we got to be good friends with her as well. In the process of getting to know her we discovered that she is a quilter too. We have tried to schedule visits but with work and having a baby that has been difficult. Terry was able to meet Emmaline over July 4th weekend.
When we talk to her she tells us that she is working on Emmaline's gift. Yesterday we received it, and it is beautiful. She embroidered her name in the shape of a cross. The colors, the fabric, the lettering, and everything else is just perfect. She also wrote a heartfelt letter that brought tears to our eyes. I can't wait to see her again. There is no way we could thank her enough for her friendship to us and Mom Allen, or for these gifts. Of course Emmaline loves it! Both baby and blanket are beautiful. It's amazing how friends touch our lives with just the simplest gesture.

Oh my! I don't know which is sweeter, the baby, the quilt, or the relationship!!

Oh it is so beautiful for a beautiful little girl - I love the way she did the corners and the name. Oh heck, I just love it all.

It's a beautiful quilt for a beautiful girl. The story that goes with it is every bit as beautiful.
