Electric Seam Ripper

Do you use an electric seam ripper?
If so, what brand?
Would love to know if they work well.
Thanks.

never seen one.

I have the quick ripper and I love it.
It takes a bit of practice but the $20 I spent on it has save me way more in time and frustration.

I have a friend who has one and she loves hers. I've used it and didn't care for it. It vibrated too much while I was using it and made my hand feel funny. I think it's one of those love it or hate it deals. Have you been able to try one out in person?

I have the quick ripper and love it. The first few times I tried to use it it didn't seem to work. Thes I figured out the angle to use it -not flush with the bottom layer of fabric - it really did work! A video I just saw held it upside down -I will try that.

It it has saved me a ton of time and has been perfect for paper piecing seams.

Well that looks pretty funny! What happens when you need to rip something that's not a straight seam? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OqfjHGiEUD4

Reminds me of an electric razor. Just smaller.

That looks exactly like the little trimmer I bought for $9 to trim my horses whiskers just before going into the showring. I will try it and see how it works.

I think I'll try one of the little beard trimmers I bought for the DS. He doesn't use it and it does look like a good time saver.

That's basically what it is. I have a beard trimmer from years ago, when someone mentioned it works for thread. Someone just took the idea and added quilting to the name so they can charge more :)
