White Rotary- Is There Something Missing Here ?
5 Attachment(s)
hi all,
i am trying to get my first ever treadle sewing machine and i saw this white rotary listed locally. i can't tell from the picture if there is some warning signs or if more than one part is missing. i know that the spool pin plate is missing on top of the head but i can't figure out if presser foot is missing also. is the bobbin case intact? will the spool plate cover and presser foot and bobbin case an expensive parts? is there any other signs on this machine that i should be aware of? are there anymore parts missing? is this an easy clean up/restoration job? do i just pass and look elsewhere ? i know that there is so many white rotary experts here. just wanting to pick your brains, if i may. thanks again. |
anyone ??? any white rotary experts here ? thanks. this will be my first treadle machine.

It looks like it all there - but it sure is a poor example. Whites are common enough, unless this one is near free, I'd look for something in nicer shape.
If you love the cabinet, you can always get it and look for a nice machine to put in it. |

There should be a plate under the right hand spool pin, its for winding the bobbin. I hope you can see it well enough in my photos, if not let me know and I'll take a close up. The 2nd picture was taken when she was still an electric machine.

Rough shape or not, I'd be tempted at $20. Steve's pics show the plate that's missing on yours pretty clearly.
Purplefiend I got a kick out of your cupholder :D. I really like the stand you're using for the cone of thread. I never really thought about something like that for a home machine. Rodney |

Rodney Purplefiend: yes, that part was my bargaining tool. but i figure i should be ok even without that plate, am i right ? thanks, |
Please forgive the question; I'm new to vintage machines. You can make a treadle out of an electric machine?
