I am making this Log Cabin (my first) for a friend that is retiring. What do you think?

I think you are off to a great start. love the layout and colors so far.

Very nice...looks like all the squares are square and in the right order (always a challenge for me!) and you colors are perfect!! Great quilt so far!

I think it is wonderful and sure she will love it. What will finished size be...Double? Queen? Will you quilt or send out to LA? Be sure and show us finished project.

I am aiming for an oversized lap. She has sectional furniture, so I wanted it to be big enough for her to drape over herself when she is lounging around once she retires..lol..I am not sure about the borders as of yet but would love any suggestions..

Very pretty! I love log cabin-it's my favorite block. I think a plain narrow border would look good, but that's just me.

Love the colors in this pattern! Anxious to see when finished!!

As for suggestions for a border.. I like piano key borders with log cabin quilts.
