Pattern for 5 fabrics
I was asked to make quilt for a fundraiser for friend who was rediagnosed with cancer. She wanted it pink. I bought5 fabrics and now don't know what to do with them. I boughg a green, medium fushia, two floral, one small and one medium and a beige.
Any ideas about patterns? |
How about a "Take 5"? http://www.accuquilt.com/take-5-quilt-pattern.html

Disappearing 9 patch?

Perhaps if you showed us the fabrics along with the quantities?
Often times it is the fabric that inspires a quilt pattern ... rather than just saying I have five fabrics. |
There is a series of patterns called Fickle Nickel Quilts from The Quilter's Studio that uses five one yard cuts. The sight is www.TQS-Online.com I think there is around 17 patterns.

I just checked The Quilter's Studio web and they don't have those patterns there. I sent them an e-mail asking about them, if I here back from them I will post it here.

I have to second the Take Five pattern. It is quick and I have made several of them. There are also two Take Five books that have lots of patterns.
A similar result can be done with a free pattern/video called Double Slice Layer Cake from Missouri Star. It calls for a layer cake, but I just made my own layer cake out of five fabrics. The end look is just about the same. Both end up similar to a Yellow Brick Road. Dina |
I agree Dina. I have made several of the double slice quilts, I even got mixed up and cut one smaller and it still came out nice. I did have to line up more seams so I have written the directions down and put them in several places.

Thanks for all the replys. I do have the pattern for the double slice. I am also looking at using the new crazy quilt templates.

Look at Take Five before you decide anything. They are really nice.
