Pink John Deere Giant 9 Patch Baby Quilts

Quite awhile ago someone posted pictures and directions to make three baby quilts from three yards of fabric.

I basically folded each yard of coordinating fabric in half and in half again. I then cut nine inches in on one raw edge and nine inches in on the other raw edge. You now have nine pieces of each fabric which you switch out with each other to make three different but similar little quilts.

I couldn't JUST do the Giant 9 Patch. I had extra coordinating fabrics which I used to embellish with the flowers, ruffles, and piping. The quilts are backed in a brown, green, and pink minky and edged with a pink satin ruffle. I practiced some free motion on them all. Luckily each receiver does not quilt so they'll never know I'm just learning. :D

My nephew and his wife were expecting a girl and I knew they'd love the pink John Deere theme. Theirs was backed in brown. Then a niece was expecting a girl so she got the second one which was backed in green. Finely I found a home for the third one which is backed in the pink. I'll gift it at church tomorrow.

I'm glad to have all three finished and gifted so I can finely share the pictures with all y'all. I'm pretty pleased. This is a great pattern to use for making quick quilts to have on hand for gifting.

Billi, I found this link to REAL directions. It's a free PDF so I think it's ok to post.

I was going to draw them out for you but I don't have good fabric to use at the moment so I GOOGLED it and voila!!! :D
