Need suggestions for quilting -
2 Attachment(s)
Hey
I am (almost) finished this quilt and it needs to be done ASAP. I was thinking about quilting it with straight lines of quilting, kind of randomly, or meandering. What are your ideas/suggestions for what to do with this? I have an old school singer that only does straight stitch, and my quilting skills are novice at best! This will end as a crib size quilt for a friends new baby grandson. Thank you for any help in advance, Now im off to add a 4 inch white border and baste this puppy up. Lets hope the pics stick this time... Amy |
I think straight lines of quilting would suit your cute top. I would SITD the sashing and then straight stitch around the squares as well.

I think straight line would be good also. I love your colors

Beautiful colors. I agree with the others, straight line quilting. They are going to love this!

I agree with Tartan; SITD throughout would look nice and be easily do-able on your machine (I'm in the same boat...I can only quilt straight or wavy with a machine, hehe).

I was thinking something along these lines

I like all the suggestions but I love that last picture. I'd recommend that if you're not in a hurry.

Your quilt is just so pretty. Nice colors, and I agree with the others to stitch in the ditch, and any straight line quilting. That last picture is so pretty too.

What about long wavy lines? They can be top to bottom, side to side, or corner to corner. It would be doable with a straight stitch machine and the gentle curves would soften the lines a little. The curves could be the same distance apart or random. Or where one curve curves out the next one could curve in. Clear as mud, right?

I would definitely do something more rounded for a contrast with the straight lines.
