My garage sale find
1 Attachment(s)
I found this full size quilt, hand made at a garage sale for.....$3.00.
HOWEVER thus is the best part of. I don't know that I could even get a twin size out of it, due to the multiple tears/rips& missing parts of it. I just loved it though & the fact that it was hand made! But now, what to do with it? Thoughts? Suggestions? |
WOW - that quilt is so lucky to have found you! A lot of work went into making that quilt by hand.

i`d put it behind an old window and put it on my wall

That design, Grandmother's Flower Garden must have been a really popular design way back when. The ones I have of my mom's are that design. It's so neat to see something so old and how it's help up over the years. I agree with putting it behind an old window and hanging it. What a find.

Thank you so much for the idea. |
Well that was a good find for $3. I feel so sad when I see hand done quilts in estate sales or auctions knowing no one in the family must've wanted it. (Of course I also feel bad about old photos too). That quilt is lucky to have you rescue it. I'm sure whatever you do with it will be fabulous!

I just finished making a queen size all by hand. Took me almost a year working on it just about every day. Depending on how badly torn it is, you could make it into a table cloth or a jacket. Or you could hang it where the damaged portion does not show.

Oh ladies that's a GREAT idea. I have an old wooden paned window just waiting to be used! This is an Awesome idea!
Thank you all. I'll post a picture of it when I get it done! |
I have seen pillows and cat shaped pillows made from old "Cutter Quilts"
