pattern for neck tie quilt

I would like to make a regular bed size neck tie qulilt. I need measurements to cut the ties. was thinking of the dresden plate pattern. I tried the internet but couldn't get anything with measurements or printable patterns. Would certainly appreciate your help. Please send PM. Thank you so much. I really enjoy all the help and information you folks give.

I recommend the Daddy' Ties book by Shirley Botsford. Ties require alot of work before cutting. They need to be washed, dried and backed with fusible. I found the book at my local library.

...also, wasn't there someone here not too long ago that did a foundation pieced block using ties? Looked sort of like string piecing......I liked that too

Thanks to those who have responded. I will look for that book at the library. I realize the quilt is a lot of work. I already have Daddy's ties and want to make a memory quilt of him. I have taken most of them apart and am about ready to start cutting. Your assistance in finding a pattern will be greatly appreciated. I am afraid to start cutting without some dimensions as a guideline.

Martha, Ilovetoquilt, one of the members here, shared a men's tie quilt she had made that was beautiful. Contact her for more information.

Laugh at me, please. I read "a neck tie quilt": a quilt to be tied around the neck. Going to have to alert HRH not to lose track of me today.

I like the Dresden Plate tie quilts, but I think this is my favorite by Huntannette.

I love this book. It is still in print. I got it from Amazon.

I made one, but used string blocks - it turned out great. Go to Quilters cache and look for your block, if you can't find it there it's nowhere.
