English Paper Piecing with Precuts - diamond sizing

I want to start an EPP project, and I was trying to determine what sized templates to buy. I think I want to use a 2" 6pt diamond. I also want to use a jelly role to create my diamonds. What I can't seem to figure out is if I can use the 2 1/2" strips in the jelly roll and have enough fabric to create my diamond. I don't want to order the templates only to find I have to return them for something smaller. Is there anyone who can tell me what the largest size diamond I can get from a jelly roll strip? Would also be nice to know what size diamonds you can use with a charm pack.

I just went through this so I understand I think. Are you making a hexagon quilt and need a triangle template for piecing?
Or do you need a jewel template (hexagon on top of triangle).

I purchased the Hex N More to help it have the hexagon, triangle, and diamond for 4 sizes.

2" hexagon needs 1" triangle for piecing
4" hexagon needs a 2" triangle for piecing
6" hexagon needs a 3" triangle for piecing

A 6" Jewel (assuming thats what you mean by diamond) you would need a 6.5 inch strip not a 2.5 jelly roll.

If you want to cut hexagons from a jelly roll you need to cut hexes no bigger than 2.5"

OR all the above will not answer because you are talking about this

WHich I have never used so I can't help but to suggest: 1. maybe use 2.25 template or sew a few jelly rolls together for bigger diamond.

http://www.ardcotemplates.com has a 2" 60 degree diamond 2" that is 2"25 and can be used with jelly roll.

It's a diamond cut at a 60 degree angle. When put together they look like this.
