Aurifil Thread <---> Fabric.com # Conversion List
Hi everyone... I tried Googling to see if anyone had a conversion list for these threads, and I couldn't find one. So I'm going to try to start one here - I hope those of you that buy this thread will chime in and we could make a list here.
I know I'm not the only one that wishes fabric.com would put the Aurifil #'s on their product listings - but they don't. :( I just bought what looked like a light grey... but had the name "Light Blue Grey"... and I should not have gone by the picture - this color looks like the highlight on a peacock... more bluey than grey. :( So can we try to do this to make a nice list? How about this: 1. If you're going to add a color, copy and paste this list into a new post . That way, if someone wants to, they can easily copy and paste the list into their computer and print it out - all from one place instead of having to drag through pages of posts here. (just tryin' to be helpful) :) 2. Be super careful with the numbers you add as well as the name that it is called on the fabric.com site. Use the *exact* numbers and names. Double check for typos before you post, please. :) 3. The product number: This is the large number above the barcode on the label on the bag that your thread came in. Please double check that number to make sure it matches your invoice... and that matches the number online. (I couldn't believe that light blue grey was what it was when it came in - compared to the picture online. :( !) 4. Let's keep the list in order according to the first column - which is the Aurifil # on the spool, please. So let me start this out on a new post.... I hope others follow! :) Thanks! Sally |
50 wt quilting cotton thread colors:
Aurifil # - Fabric.com # - Name of color that fabric.com uses 2024 - NR-6009 - white 2310 - NR-6036 - light beige 2610 - NR-5093 - light blue grey 2692 - NR-6047 - black To add another color that you know of, please copy and paste the list above into a new post... and *insert* the new color into it's proper place according to the first number - which is the Aurifil # that is printed on the spool's label. Thanks! |
That's weird that they don't put the number. I wonder why not? Have you tried writing them a letter?
|
OK, now that I got the format down....
I hope someone can tell me if they know what numbers fabric.com uses for these two: Aurifil #2021 - which (in my words) is a light cream/off white sort of color Aurifil #2370 - which (in my words) is a dark taupey-tan/khaki sort of color (it's one of my faves) And... I need a light grey... I bombed *big* thinking that light blue grey was going to be "it". :( Thanks Sally |

So I hope we can do it. :) I like getting it for about $3-4 less a spool there (with their free shipping, too!) Gives me that much more $$ to spend on fabric locally. :) |
Brilliant! Thank you for doing this.
We have a lot of the same ones, but I have a few I can add: 50 wt quilting cotton thread colors: Aurifil # - Fabric.com # - Name of color that fabric.com uses 2021 - NR-6007 - natural white 2024 - NR-6009 - white 2310 - NR-6036 - light beige 2605 - NR-6045 - grey 2610 - NR-5093 - light blue grey 2692 - NR-6047 - black 2865 - NR-6026 - emerald 4662 - NR-5096 - creme de menthe (variegated) |
Awesome, Sewnoma!
Thanks for clarifying the #2021... I was thinking it was that one... and I need to order more. |
I am odd man out. I use Mettler Silk finished thread and I have a color chart. :)
