White Sewmaster
2 Attachment(s)
My Mom just picked this up for me yesterday from our local Goodwill. I just love the look of this machine! It came with a buttonholer, a box of attachments, two manuals, and the original guarantee slip dated 1956 from Herpolsheimer Co., in Grand Rapids, MI.
Does anyone else here enjoy sewing with White or Domestic sewing machines? It seems like they aren't very popular at all but I just love the ones that I own. |
What a beauty! Tell your mom "Good job!"

I have several White made sewing machines and they all sew very well. But I've never seen one shaped like that.
That's a cool old machine. Joe |
Thanks! I really like it. It has three spool pins plus one for winding the bobbin. I guess you are supposed to be able to thread three threads through one needle. I have never heard of doing that before I found it in another group today.
|
Two spools for double thread? One for winding the bobbin while you sew?
|
I had a White Rotary 77 that you could run three threads through the needle to create some special effect. I forget what they called it.
|
Aw Mark, now I have to try that.
|
I think it was supposed to look like embroidery.
|
I've run two threads through a size 16 needle on a Singer 66 treadle machine. If you use variegated thread top and bottom it makes a really interesting pattern.
Or if I use one of my widgets the threads twists as it goes through so two solid colors look like variegated. Joe |
Pretty cabinet too!! Great deal.
