Sleep Number Beds
We need to replace our current mattress and are considering either a sleep number or temperapedic mattress. Do any of you have these and what is your experience with them? It's a pricey purchase, so it's important to have a point of reference. Thanks.

We've had our Sleep Number bed for about 6 months and are very happy with it. You're right, it's a big purchase! But my husband and I are both plus-size and we were having trouble with traditional mattresses with the mattress sagging toward his side of the bed. Doesn't happen with the Sleep Number. He also prefers a firmer mattress than I do and the dual control lets each of us have the firmness that we prefer.
Because it's primarily filled with air it's significantly lighter than a traditional mattress, too, which makes changing sheets easier. |
I don't think mine is the Sleep Number one but its' two air mattresses. King size bed. My side has always lost air over time so I must check it. I usually don't remember until my back starts to hurt. I started years ago with the dial at 45 but now like it up to 90!

We have a sleep number bed in the MBR and also the guest room. I have arthritis and find being able to change the firmness helps lessen the discomfort. DH likes an extremely firm bed. So the dual controls really help us both. We didn't buy their linens as we found the linens we already had worked.

I have severe arthritis in my back and hips. I would not trade my snb for love or money. I love mine. I've had it for about 14 years. I plan on getting another one when this one is worn out.

We've had our Sleep Number for about 2 years and love it! It's so nice to be able to adjust the softness when my back is tired from sewing or working in the yard. I highly recommend them. We also have the cooling pad, love it also. DH has their contour pillow and other than it weighing heavy, no problems there. Just know that the price will shock you when they quote it. But my next bed will be a Sleep Number also.

We have a sleep number-going on 4 years now and love it. There is quite a difference between hubby & I - it used to be
Like I was sleeping on a hill always at risk of rolling down... Now with our own controls/settings I don't even notice if he gets up in the middle of the night. And, no more sore hips or shoulders in the mornings either- best major purchase we ever made |
I saw one advertised at a garage sale just yesterday, so not everyone is delighted with them apparently. If you know someone who has one, ask to try it out.

I looked at sleep number beds, but bought the Sealy iComfort with the adjustable frame. The price really cut into to my fun money for this year, but I love it!! Be sure to look at them before buying.

Our plus size son and DIL have one. They like the adjustable part, but son like his mattress hard and she likes soft, so he feels like he "rolls" into a well in the middle. Does that make sense?
We have a adjustable foam mattress not Temperpedic. I think it is Sealy too. Love it and it is more affordable. Foam can be too warm if you get warm. It holds the heat. There is one brand that is addressing that issue. It may be Sealy. |
