cotton theroy questions

Has anybody put together a cotton theory quilt? If so can you help with few questions ?

I have 2 books and made a couple of quilts but don't think I can remember enough to help sorry. Remember confusion until the light bulb turned on.

I haven't but someone in my guild has made one. All I remember is that it was very, very heavy. Nice, but heavy.

I tried, as a beginning quilter. Pure and total confusion ensued, and I put the book and the fabric away. Haven't gone back to it yet.

Good luck

Sewing with Nancy had her on a long while back and she did a good demo. Nancy's videos are free on line if you want to try that. Maybe there are some
videos on you tube giving a demo.

I took a Cotton Theory workshop when it was first popular. The blocks were bulky. I managed to get them sewn together but the quilt was stiff. I made a smaller quilt using Thermore batting (thinnest batting I could find) and I liked it much better. I haven't made another one and probably won't.

I have done a small table runner and a twin quilt with that theory. I had fun doing it, but it took longer than expected. Maybe all things take longer than expected. LOL The thing with Cotton Theory is it takes a lot of fabric. A strip that finished at 1 X 3 in the quilt needs a piece 3 X 5 to start with. The front and the back, too. All the seams are one inch. The batt pieces are cut to finished size. Let me know what you need, and I'll see if I can help.

Betty Cotton sells her own batting in 18 in. width. I never bought any, I just used what I had.
