Necchi535FA feeddog and clutch problems-Help!

I was given a Necchi 535FA recently. It cleaned up nicely. However, the feed dogs will only move slightly when just running the machine, but will not advance the material. Also the needle bar assemble continues to move up and down when the stop motion knob (clutch) is loosened to fill a bobbin. Does anyone have any suggestions for fixing these problems? I took it apart and the gears appear to be okay. Any websites that might help or suggestions to try would be great.:)

If it's like most other machines you'll have to take the hand wheel and clutch apart and give it a good cleaning so things move properly to release and engage the clutch.
Does the stitch length regulator move at all?
I'm guessing most of your troubles are dried oil in the machine. A good cleaning inside and fresh oil should get things freed up again. You might want to pick up some Tri-Flow oil. It seems to be better than regular sewing machine oil at dissolving old oil.
