gifts for quilters
I have some quilting friends I need to give gifts to.
Already did the pincushion, needle case hand crocheted washcloths ect. what else is good and not too expensive. Need to give gifts to some swap hostesses also, already gave them the aforementioned gift. HELP!!! |
I found this retractable tape measure on Missouri Star that I got for a quilting friend for a little goodie to go with a gift.

How about a cloth bowl? I got one from belfrybat in a secret pal swap and it is adorable. She said she made it at a class and I use it when I'm hand stitching to put my cut threads in, in other words, I use it as a trash bowl. I do most of hand stitching while watching TV and it collapses so I can put it in my sewing tote. I'm sure if you didn't want to contact her you could google it and find something about it there.

I'd love to receive one of these little square fabric boxes. There are many tutes about them online; this is just the first one I found.

Oooh I am with Jan. Those little boxes are cute! And no one ever makes things for quilters it seems. Another thing I saw was an i-pad holder, can't remember much about it but it was made from a square of quilted fabric and it could be an envelope style to hold the i-pad/kinlde or unfold it it was a bag. It is from: http://www.desireesdesigns.com

Mug rugs, easy table runners, aprons, pot holders, CD holders for their cars, I'm a quilter and I love to get quilted gifts made by my friends!

I am doing panty purses for gifts this Chrustmas. Other than buying a $1 zipper at Walmart, everything else if from my stash. I did see a link on www.wowilikethat.com that you can order 54 zippers for $7.89 from Amazon but I don't think I could use that many zippers.:D

I did fabric boxes last year for my wine & whine girls. Looked at some jar candles to determine size I wanted to make, picked up some cheapie seasonal fabrics; got jar candles in particular scents for each lady and sewed away. Quick and easy to make and they all loved them.

If you crochet, how about a vintage thimble pouch? They are quick to make and super cute. Another easy make is a travel companion which looks like a lipstick holder, but holds a reel of thread and needles. Quick and easy make. If you PM me I will gladly share the patterns for these. One last option is fat quarter lollies - many instructions on web regarding folding these.
