Jacobs ladder or sampler, what do you think?

Making a wedding quilt for my nephew and I know they both like blue and his fiancé said she tends to like traditional quilts more than modern. Was originally thinking a scrappy blue and cream Jacobs ladder, but now I am wondering if I should do more of a sampler style still in the blue and cream scrappy style.....what would you do? Oh and tomorrow my LQS has 25% off everything so I have to shop tomorrow.

if you have time, look for a "bride's" quilt. It's a sampler with each block having a special meaning. Been a while since I've seen one, but they are kind of special IMO.

I happen to love the Jacob Ladder blocks and have given it as a gift several times so that would be my choice.

I have never made a jacob's ladder whole quilt but I really like the look of ones that are scrappy.

Jacobs ladder blocks are about my favorite blocks. So that gets my vote. If she loves traditional I would keep it simple. A blue & cream Jacobs Ladder quilt would be Beautiful!

here's a great site with a tut for jacobs ladder and many variations of it http://www.generations-quilt-pattern...der-quilt.html
the first pic on the page shows it in blue and cream which is very pretty.

There was a pretty quilt on the QB yesterday that used the components of Jacob's ladder but arranged a little differently. It was in th thread "Here are some I have finished" by lb70542. The quilt is the third one shown and is blue and beige.
