Video instructions for cutting bias strips

I use bias strips often in my sewing. I've been looking for a faster method to cut many long lengths in order to make raw-edged ruffles for my linen clothing. Today I decided to bind a baby quilt with a linen backing with bias instead of straight-of-grain strips.

I went looking for You-Tube videos again and found one from a professional designer and teacher named Linda Rohlfing. She demonstrated a method that shows you how to create multiple folds on the bias and cut in manageable lengths of fabric. At the end she demonstrates the method I use to join bias strips.

You will only need a standard cutting ruler for all of the steps, no special bias rulers are needed. I was able to cut many bias strips from a yard of fabric in just a few minutes. I know this will make it easier to cut bias from 58" wide linen. Hope this helps someone else.

That is how I have always cut my bias strips.found the method in a very old ( black and white cover) quilters Newsletter magazine years ago. Tried the " sew a tube and cut method, but too labor intensive and I can't cut straight with shears to make it as good as the other method. IMHO
